The Hike App leads you through an interpretive hike in an area of your choosing.
Prairie State Conservation Coalition (PSCC) is a non-profit organization created to assist conservation land trusts, land owners, and communities in their efforts to protect land and water resources in Illinois. This Hike App was created with the support of PSCC, the Donnelley Foundation, and the Grand Victoria Foundation to further enhance public awareness and foster community interactions with Illinois natural areas and open lands. With this App, land trust organizations in Illinois now have an outlet to provide interactive tours of their project sites. These tours are guided by GPS and conveniently available on your mobile devices. The Hike App leads you through an interpretive hike in a natural area of your choosing. Some details in the trail text and narration are outdated, but overall I love the inclusion of historical photos and context provided for the trails. The app is easy to use and the trail maps work well.
Not sure about previous versions, but the 1/19/15 version seems to work well and is accurate, as far as I can tell.
The error message stating this app is no longer working has completely paralyzed my phone! It repeats so rapidly I can't do anything!! I can't even delete it!! Or make a phone call, or send a text or ANYTHING
